Courses Taught:

1. Ornithology, Auburn University: I taught students identifying characteristics of Alabama birds, coordinated field trips, and led lab sessions where students learned internal avian anatomy as well as how to prepare museum specimen using salvaged birds.

2.  Immunology, Auburn University: Working alongside Dr. Cathy S. McVay, we employed active, hands-on learning to teach students the underlying principles behind basic immunological assays.

3. Recombinant DNA and Gene Expression, Auburn University: Students walked away from this course with basic skills in and an understanding of molecular biology principles, including DNA extractions, molecular cloning, and recombinant protein expression.

4. Genetics, Auburn University: Using a think pair share approach, I taught students basic modes of inheritance using simulations based on fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) genetics as well as application and interpretation of data generated using traditional genetic tools (i.e. pedigrees, DNA and RNA sequence data, phylogenetics, etc.).

5. Organismal Biology, Auburn University: I employed active learning approaches to teach students to taxonomically classify diverse organisms at the level of Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, and/or Class.

6. Introductory Biology, Auburn University: I taught basic biology principles to both majors and non-majors students, emphasizing concepts such as microscopy, cell cycles, and metabolic processes.
